A new revelation is pointing to the fact that Manchester United player, Marcus Rashford is a Ghanaian. This has been brought to light by his ‘real father’ Michael Boye Marquaye who’s an ex-Ghanaian footballer based in the United Kingdom.
Officially it is well known that Joseph Rashford who is of Jamaican descent is the father of the soccer star and Melanie Rashford of St Kitts descent is his mother.
However, 65-year-old Michael Boye Marquaye is now challenging these records that he’s Rashford’s biological father.
He revealed this in an exclusive chat with Starr FM Sports.
Michael Boye Marquaye was himself a prolific striker in his playing days in Ghana alongside the likes of Hesse Odamtten, Ben Kayode, and Aboagye Dacosta of Okwahu United fame playing for several clubs in Koforidua(Eastern Region and Tema (Greater Accra Region). Michael is indicating that he is the father biologically of Marcus Rashford and that explains why he carries his genes as a footballer.
Michael Boye Marquaye when asked on why he is bringing this out now said he simply wants to set the records straight and to let the whole world know that Marcus Rashford has Ghanaian roots and not for any other motivation.
Marcus Rashford has played for England at all age levels and currently a prominent member of the three lions.
