Chelsea defeated Newcastle United in a 2 – 0 away win at the St. James park this afternoon.

The hosts defender Federico Gave the blues an early lead in the 10th minute with an own goal before English Striker Tammy Abraham sealed the victory after being set up by new boy Timo Werner in the 65th minute.

The result means Chelsea go top of the Premier League for the first time under Frank Lampard ahead of Leicester on goal difference and a point clear of Tottenham and Liverpool.
