As ‘custom’ demands, once an artiste looses out at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards each year, he/she would be mocked in the most savage manner.

Legacy Life Entertainment signee was one of the people who tasted the rod of mockery after he failed to win any of the awards he was nominated for at last year’s VGMAs.

Taking cue from this, the “Oh Yeah” hitmaker is asking his fans to better vote for him or else, they’ll mock them on Twitter again.

Speaking on Radio Central with Amansan Krakye about the VGMAs and his multiple nominations, King Promise said that he respects the award scheme a lot.

“It shows we are doing something good. We were nominated last year and this year too, that’s a good thing, it means we are progressing. We got more nominations than last year, it means we are doing a good job and we won’t let anything pulls us down.

“I’m very thankful because VGMA is a very prestigious awards ceremony. It’s the number 1 right here in Ghana so if they recognize your works it’s a plus so I’m very grateful.

“The fans should vote so that we win what we deserve. If not they will laugh at us on Twitter like last year. Everyone should vote”, he said.

King Promise has been nominated in six categories for the 20th edition of the VGMAs. They include, Artist of the year, Highlife artist of the year, Highlife song of the year, Best collaboration, Vodafone most popular song of the year, and Afro-pop song of the year.
