Bob Dole was an American politician and attorney who represented Kansas in the United States Senate from 1969 to 1996. He also served as the Republican Leader of the Senate and as Senate Majority Leader. This Kansas-native was a Presidential nominee in 1996 and the vice presidential nominee in the 1976 election.

Robert Joseph Dole was on July 22, 1923, to Bina M. and Doran Ray Dole. He attended Russell High School and moved on to the University of Kansas where he was a sports star playing basketball and football. He also attended Washburn University in Topeka, after his service in World War II. Dole was elected into Congress in 1962 and served until 1969.

Dole succeeded Senator Frank Carlson in the U.S. Senate. He served on different committees in his 27 years in the Senate. He had a reputation for being bipartisan and working with different presidents despite their political parties.

Is Bob Dole Still Alive or Dead?

In February 2021, Bob Dole announced that he had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He died peacefully in his sleep on December 5, 2021, at the age of 98.
