He starred in a major film in 1956 in the movie The Ten Commandments. By 1955, he got the role of the western cowboy on the series Cheyenne, which aired from 1955 to 1962. The show was a hit and Walker’s striking 6 foot 6 inches frame made a favorite especially among women. Following the success of Cheyenne, he got more lead roles like in the war drama The Dirty Dozen.
He was recognized and awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. He starred alongside the best in Hollywood like Telly Savalas, Roger Moore and Charlton Heston.
