David Berkowitz was born Richard David Falco was born on June 1, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. People remember David as a spoiled child and a bully. At the age of 17, David joined the army in 1971. He served at Fort Knox.
David started committing violent crimes, in 1975, he stabbed two ladies. He shot his first victims in 1976, Donna Lauria and Jody Valenti.
Donna was killed but Jody survived. In October of the same year, he went on another killing spree both victims survived but they did not see his face.
Son of Sam’s reign of terror came to an end on August 10, 1977, when Detective John Falotico arrested him after surveilling him.
The next day David confessed to all the shootings from 1976 to when he was arrested. Berkowitz was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for each murder, to be served consecutively
