Charles Frazier Stanley is the Pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He pastored the church for 51 years. He was born on September 25, 1932. At 14 year Charles began working as a Christian Missionary after he was born again.
Stanley received his masters from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctorate degree from Luther Rice Seminary. He became a pastor at First Baptist Church in 1971 and launched the television show The Chapel Hour. In 1978, he started another television show in Touch and it aired on Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN); it was translated into 50 languages.
Stanley married Anna J. Stanley in 1955 and they had two children Becky and Andy. He and his wife divorced in 2011. Stanley’s divorce was a scandal in the church as he was expected to resign as pastor upon his divorce. However, a majority of the church members voted to keep on as pastor as long as he did not remarry.
