Edmund Emil Kemper III is an American-convicted killer, known for killing his paternal grandparents, his mother, and seven other victims. Recognizable for his height of 6 feet 9 inches, his IQ of 145, and for committing necrophilia.

Ed Kemper was born on December 18, 1948. He started showing signs of antisocial behavior such as torture of insects and animals and by the age of 10, he was killing and mutilating animals. At the age of 15, Kemper fatally shot and stabbed his paternal grandparents. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, sent to a mental institution, and released on his 21st birthday.

From 1972 to 1973, Kemper killed eight women. He would pick hitchhikers, kill them, decapitate and rape their copse before dismembering their bodies. He killed five college students, a high school student, his mother, and her best friend, he was arrested on April 20, 1973. Kemper was sentenced to seven life terms in prison on November 8, 1973.

Ed Kemper is alive and serving his sentence at the California Medical Facility. He has been denied parole thirteen times so far and will be eligible for another hearing in 2024 when he will be 75 years old.
