John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer and sex offender. It is believed he raped and murdered more than 33 boys, some of his victims are yet to be identified.
He is known as “Killer Clown” because he used to perform as a clown in charity shows and children’s hospitals.
Gacy was born to an alcoholic and abusive father, his father often beat him and belittled him. He worked as a mortuary attendant, and he confessed to entering the coffin of a deceased teenage male, embracing and caressing the body.
This behaviour scared him and he quit the next day.
In 1968, Gacy was convicted of sodomy, he was sentenced to ten years in prison but he served only 18 months and was paroled, which turned out to be a mistake.
Gacy raped and murder 33 teenagers between 1972 to 1978, he committed most of these crimes in his house.
Gacy was arrested after he confessed to his lawyer, 29 bodies were discovered around his house. He was tried and sentenced to death.
