He was described as a “happy and calm” child till he had to undergo double hernia surgery. After the surgery, he became timid and subdued. Dahmer was weirdly interested in dead animals and bones, he would watch his father butch animals and would be fascinated by it.
Dahmer started his murder spree in 1978, killing hitchhiker Steven Hicks. By his 20s and 30s, he had murdered and committed necrophilia with his victims. In July 1991, he was arrested and the police searched his apartment.
His apartment was one of the goriest crime scenes the police have seen stating “It was more like dismantling someone’s museum than an actual crime scene.” He was tried and sentenced to life in prison.

Jeffrey Dahmer served his sentence at Columbia Correctional Institution, two years into his sentence he was killed on November 28, 1994.
He was beaten to death by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver, Scarver claimed God asked him to do it.
Dahmer’s death was met with mixed reactions as some people celebrated the news. The apartment, Dahmer killed most of his victims, 924 North 25th Street, was demolished in 1992.
