Loretta Webb was born April 14, 1932 at Kentucky. In 1948, Loretta married Oliver Vanetta “Doolittle” Lynn at the age of 15. Loretta taught herself how to play the guitar after buying one for $17. She started singing professionally when she formed her band Loretta and the Trailblazers.
Lynn had sixteen No. 1 hits as a solo artist. Her music was inspired by issues she faced in her marriage, she talked about cheating husbands in her songs. In 1976, she published her autobiography, Coal Miner’s Daughter. It was adapted into a movie and won an Oscar.
Lynn released her 50th studio album Still Woman Enough on March 19, 2021.
