Stephen McDaniel has been accused of murdering Lauren Giddings, a law student at the Mercer Law School. Giddings was his classmate. The victim was then preparing for the BAR Examination.
To reports, on the morning of June 26, 2011, McDaniel forcefully entered Lauren Giddings’ room and murdered her by strangulation. He is also said to have dismembered her body into a trash can.
According to sources, McDaniel wanted to be in a relationship with Giddings which he refused because she was already in one. On April 21, 2012, he pleaded guilty to the crime.
