Marvin Lee Aday was born on September 27, 1947. He formed his first band, Meatloaf Soul in 1968 and opened for several artists. Lee worked with Shaun “Stoney” Murphy on the album Stoney & Meatloaf. The album was on top of the Billboard 100.
In 1977, Meatloaf and Jim Steinman worked on a new album and released Bat Out of Hell. The album sold 43 million copies, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. It was No. 1 on the UK and Australia charts.
