T. B. Joshua was a Nigerian charismatic pastor, televangelist, and philanthropist. He was the founder of Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), a megachurch that runs the Emmanuel TV television station from Lagos. He was a controversial figure and was officially blacklisted by the government of Cameroon in 2010.
Joshua was born on June 12 of 1963 in Ondo State. He attended St. Stephen’s Anglican Primary School in Arigidi Akoko, Nigeria, between 1971 and 1977. He was often called “Small Pastor” in school because of his love for the bible.
Joshua founded the ministry organization known as Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN). It is reported that more than 15,000 members attended its weekly Sunday service and visitors from across the world often visited the church. Joshua claimed he was able to heal diseases including Ebola and HIV-AIDS.
Joshua was also a well-known philanthropist, spending millions of dollars on education, and feeding the homeless and elders. His charity work was not limited to Nigeria alone but to other countries like Ghana, Colombia, Haiti, Ecuador, and the Philippines.
